1884년 발행된 우리 나라 최초의 근대우표인 문위우표 미사용 5종 세트 입니다.

문위우표는 조선 우정총국에서 1884년 11월 18일 최초 발행하였으며, 5문, 10문, 25문, 50문, 100문 총 5종이 제작 되었습니다.

5문, 10문은 실지 발행되었으나, 나머지 3종은 갑신정변(1884년 12월 4일) 발발로 인해 우정총국이 폐쇄되면서 인쇄만 되고 발행이 되지 못했습니다.

5문, 10문 우표 또한 갑신정변의 실패로 인해 발행된 지 21일 만에 사용이 중단되었습니다.

우리나라 최초의 근대우표인 문위우표는 구한말 조선 역사의 부침속에 단명하게 되었습니다.
