* AW 파버 컴퍼니는 1761년 독일에서 사업을 시작해서 가문 전체가 8대째 사업을 하고 있습니다. AW Faber, Johann Faber, FaberCastell 등 이름에서 보시다시피 얽히고 섞인 가족기업들입니다. 현재는 FaberCastell로 수렴통합되어 사업하고 있습니다.

* AW 파버의 후손이 카스텔 집안과 1900년에 결혼한 후 현재의 파버카스텔로 이름을 변경하였답니다. 부인 가문(카스텔)은 귀족 계급인 반면, 남편 가문(파버)은 후작 레벨로 상대적으로 아래 집안이었답니다. 파버카스텔로 할지 카스텔파버로 할지에 대해서 아웅다웅 했다네요.

* 일단 AW Faber 이름이 달린 연필이면 오래되고 가치있는 연필이라고 생각하시면 되겠습니다.
